Winchester, MA (December 18, 2019) - In response to some high demand, the Boston Imperials today announced the establishment of a Girls hockey program and the hiring of Natalie Flynn as Girls Director. Natalie will work to establish teams at the U19 level in 2020 and showcase teams at the U16 and U14 levels. Ms. Flynn will oversee all girls hockey operations including recruitment, player development, and family assistance for the 2020-21 season. The team(s) will play specifically curated schedule(s) in order to prepare the girls for their high school season and beyond. Each girl will also be provided resources to play beyond high school or a higher level should she choose.
\"We believe girls hockey is somewhat underserved and we are going to use our extensive network to provide girls the playing opportunities they deserve. We also will work directly with the town programs in our area to help provide these girls with resources they might not have otherwise had.\" noted club owner Scott Fitzgerald.
Flynn, a Medford native, joins the Imperials after a successful playing career where she served as Co-captain of the Boston University Women\'s team. Ms. Flynn, recently named head Girls Coach at Arlington Catholic, played four years at Arlington Catholic before a post-graduate year at Cushing Academy. She was named Boston Globe Athlete of the Year in 2012 after her senior season at Arlington Catholic and also Captained Arlington Catholic to the 2012 Division I state title where she also was named league MVP and also received the Hockey Night in Boston top forward award in 2012.
\"Natalie epitomizes what we are looking for to build our girls program. She\'s part of the community and played at an extremely high level. Most importantly, she is also a wonderful human being who will serve as a role model to all our players\" commented club owner Dennis Franczak.
